She has previous experience working in both print and broadcast journalism. Royale’s previous roles include those of anchor and reporter at KOLN-TV in Lincoln, Nebraska; anchor and reporter at KBJR-TV in Duluth, Minnesota; and reporter at The Miami Herald. Prior to joining the Action 7 News team, Royale held these positions.
Royale holds a degree in professional journalism from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities. She is also a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists as well as the National Association of Journalists in America (NAJA) (Native American Journalists Association). The Associated Press has also acknowledged the quality of her work by bestowing upon her a first-place award in the category of serial reporting for her contribution titled “Help From the Heartland – Hurricane Katrina.”
Royale considers giving back to the Special Olympics to be one of her life’s greatest joys. She had already put in a significant amount of volunteer work for the group prior to relocating to New Mexico, and she intends to keep doing so after she gets settled there.
