Clark worked as one of a three-person reporting team in the Southern Illinois bureau that was tasked with covering the market’s entire Illinois region.
He believed that Midwest was the ideal environment for a budding journalist to get experience. He pursued tornadoes for two years, heard farmers’ complaints about a trade war, covered some of the worst floodings in state history, and observed communities struggle to deal with a drug issue, to mention a few areas of concentration.
When an EF-2 tornado tore through Paducah, Kentucky, in 2019, Clark and his coworkers at KFVS were nominated for a coveted Emmy award for their coverage of the event.
