Prior to that, he held the same position at our sister station in Kansas City. Prior to that, he worked at KATC in Lafayette, Louisiana, for around four and a half years as a reporter and anchor.

After working as an Anchor-Reporter at KATC (ABC) in Lafayette, Louisiana for four and a half years, he eventually made his way to Kansas City. While Steve was in that region, the Louisiana Associated Press and the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters presented him with a number of prizes, including “Reporter of the Year” and “Story of the Year.” In addition to that, he was nominated for a professional Emmy while still in college.
During his stay in Louisiana, he reported on significant events for KATC, such as Hurricane Issac, the F-5 tornado that struck Moore, Oklahoma, and the stranding of the Carnival Triumph at sea. Additionally, during the Historic Flooding that occurred in southwest Louisiana in August of 2016, he anchored nonstop coverage of the event.
When he was a student at Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana, which is where he graduated in 2005, he first developed an interest in current events and sports. Following graduation from high school, he enrolled at Ball State University, where he pursued his interest in television production all the way through to the completion of both his undergraduate and master’s degrees.
Following his time as captain of the co-ed cheerleading team at Ball State University throughout his college career, Steven began instructing at cheerleading camps throughout the summer across the country and around the world. In 2011 and 2012, Steven had the fortunate chance to instruct high school cheerleaders on US Military locations in Germany and Italy. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Steven.
