Steve Johnson is a well-known journalist in the United States who currently serves as an anchor for WHNT 19 News. Greensboro, in the state of North Carolina, is his hometown. When he was in the third grade, his family uprooted their lives and relocated to Huntsville.
After completing his high school education at Huntsville High School, he went on to study at Auburn University. He earned his degree in Journalism from the university, and he also received minors in Speech, English, and History.

In May of 1977, he brought his family back to Rocket City, where he had grown up, and accepted a job as the Sports Director at Action News 19, which was known as it at the time.
Late in the year 1999, he started transitioning from covering sports to covering news at WHNT News 19. After having worked as a Senior Reporter and a Special Assignment Reporter, he is presently serving as a co-anchor for the morning news broadcast on weekdays.
