Steve Crump Cancer | Steve Crump Update
Following a nine-month clinical leave that was necessary because of Steve Crump’s battle with colon cancer, the veteran WBTV correspondent is finally back at work. Crump’s absence was necessary because of the treatment he required.
Crump made his triumphant return to the WBTV newsroom on Monday, where he was greeted with applause and praise from every member of the staff. It was very evident that he had been tragically missed in every way.
As a result of the diagnosis of colon cancer in June 2018, Crump has been absent from work ever since. Surgery to eradicate the sickness resulted in an actual MRSA contamination, which forced him to remain in the clinic for a total of fifty-one days.
During that time, he was required to undergo dialysis, to breathe with the assistance of a ventilator, and to make use of oxygen tanks. During Crump’s time away from WBTV, he has been very open about his illness, including sitting down with WBTV anchor Jamie Boll and appearing on WBTV’s Morning Break during the month of March to raise awareness about colon cancer.
