The hiring was announced in a press release issued by WTNH’s general manager and vice president, Mark Higgins, who stated that “Scott’s commitment to reporting important local and national news aligns with our mission of having the backs of our viewers and telling the stories that impact their lives.”
Following his time at WFSB, McDonnell went on to report in his home state of Massachusetts as well as in Florida, where he covered both local and national topics, including the tragedy that occurred with Trayvon Martin.
