Ron Kuby is an American criminal defense and civil rights attorney, host of a radio talk show, and pundit on television. He is most recognized for his work as a radio host for Air America and WABC in New York. Ron is the current managing partner of the Manhattan law firm Ronald L. Kuby.

In 1973, Ron temporarily enrolled in a recognized alternative high school. He spent one year at Cleveland State University after graduation.

He left college in 1974 and relocated to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where he worked on a tugboat and became interested in West Indian ethnobotany and therapeutic plants. He briefly resided in Maine before relocating to Kansas in 1975. At the University of Kansas, he earned degrees in history and cultural anthropology.

While attending KU, Ron participated in free speech and anti-apartheid activism. He earned the highest distinction at graduation and had a 4.0 GPA. After visiting St. Croix numerous times, he also carried out original fieldwork and published it, such as the 1979 “Folk medicine in St. Croix: an ethnobotanical study”.

Ron claims that the Kansas University police purposely shattered his arm when they dispersed an anti-apartheid demonstration during a commencement ceremony. The KU Endowment Association was being urged by protesters to divest itself of holdings in businesses operating in South Africa.

He received his Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School in 1983. Ron was invited to join the esteemed Cornell Law Review due to his academic standing, but he declined the offer. Ron was a top graduate in his class.
