Pete Grigsby is a Meteorologist for KMBC 9 News in the United States of America. Since 1990, he has been a member of the KMBC 9 First Alert Weather team, so his tenure there spans more than a quarter of a century. He has been making forecasts for the weather in Kansas City for the past two decades.
Grigsby graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in meteorology in addition to his Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism degree from Brigham Young University. In addition to this, the American Meteorological Society has awarded him their “Seal of Approval” certification.

He continues to work at KMBC, but on a reduced schedule, particularly when there is a threat posed by severe weather. Grigsby was a basketball player for his secondary school who scored more than 2,000 points and was named to the all-state team. Grigsby turned on the opportunity to play collegiate basketball at Auburn (where he would have been coached by Sonny Smith and would have played alongside Charles Barkley), BYU, and other colleges. Instead, he decided to retire from the sport and concentrate on his education in broadcast journalism and meteorology.
In addition to this, the American Meteorological Society has awarded him their “Seal of Approval” certification. Grigsby and Michelle have been married for a number of years and are the parents of two children, namely Nyla and Pete IV. In addition, he enjoys activities such as playing the piano, running, and performing in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he is not spending time with his family.

Grigsby is the son of Frances Grigsby and Bill Grigsby, and he has spent his whole life in the United States. The year 1949 marked the year that his parents tied the knot. He was the youngest of three siblings and spent his childhood in Kentucky with his two sisters, Geri and Grigsby. He was the only boy in the family. His father was a sportscaster and a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. He also won an Emmy Award.
