Michelle Kennedy is a Meteorologist who hails from the United States and has been a member of the WXII 12 team since the summer of 2001. Michelle had a successful career in forecasting in the South for a number of years before migrating to the Triad.
Journalism was the focus of Michelle’s studies at the University of Maryland at College Park, where she earned her degree. In addition to that, she graduated from Mississippi State University’s department of broadcast meteorology. She has the title of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist and the AMS Television Seal of Approval, in addition to being a member of the American Meteorological Society (AMS).

Michelle began her professional career in the field of journalism in Kirksville, Missouri, working for KTVO. Michelle developed an interest in meteorology as a result of her experiences chasing tornadoes and getting caught in hail storms. After realizing that meteorology was her calling, Michelle joined WCIV in Charleston, South Carolina, where she provided weather forecasts during hurricanes Bertha and Fran. The next destination on Michelle’s itinerary was Austin, Texas, where she gave a severe weather and flash flood forecast. Michelle moved back to the Carolinas after working for KTBC in Texas for a couple of years there. She worked as a weather forecaster at WCCB in Charlotte before moving to the Triad area.
