After working as an anchorperson and correspondent in Columbus, Ohio, Mary relocated to Jacksonville in 1992. In Columbus, she had previously worked. Her first job in the television industry was as an anchor and journalist at KTVL, which was located in her former neighborhood in Medford, Oregon.
Mary attended the School of Journalism at the University of Oregon and graduated there. She is energetic in newsgathering, taking care of meetings, addressing the news station locally, and emceeing many charitable occasions in the Jacksonville area in her role as co-anchor of News4Jax at 5, 6, and 10 p.m. with Tom Wills every weeknight. She received a nomination for a Suncoast Emmy in 2012 for her program on organ donation entitled “The Story of Andrew and Savannah.” She has been recognized for her assistance and inclusion of the disabled in the Jacksonville area, for which she has received funding from the American Heart Association for her series of publications on coronary sickness and stroke.
