During the summer of 2013, Madeleine served as a fill-in host for the longstanding broadcaster Warren Olney IV on his show To the Point, which aired on KCRW, which is a competitor of KPCC. Madeleine moved to KCRW in September 2013 and immediately began developing Press Play, which became the first new daily program on KCRW since the station’s launch in 2001. The pairing of the two hosts, under the moniker Brand & Martez, had its premiere on August 13, 2012, however, it only lasted for four weeks and was a flop. This was partially due to the fact that the two had only met twice before to the beginning of the program. Madeline resigned from her position at the station in September 2012, and Alex Cohen was hired to take her place (the show was renamed Take Two).
