Lou Dobbs is an American political reporter, creator, and former TV host. He is best known for presenting the news program Lou Dobbs Tonight, which he hosted from 2003 to 2009 and from 2011 to 2021.
Dobbs was born on September 24, 1945, in Childress County, Texas, in the United States. His father, Frank Dobbs, was a co-proprietor of a propane business, while his mother, Lydia Mae, worked as a clerk. His birthplace was in the United States.
Dobbs’s family ultimately settled in Rupert, Idaho, after the failure of his father’s propane business. Dobbs was twelve years old at the time. Even though he was accepted at the University of Idaho and Idaho State University, the faculty and staff at Minico High School persuaded him to submit an application to Harvard University.
