Since roughly the year 1999, he has been a key part of the NewsChannel 5 This Morning program, which is rated as the #1 morning show on the station.

In 1993, Lelan became an anchor for the end-of-the-week morning and evening shows on the NewsChannel 5 Network. His responsibilities included reporting on the weather conditions.
