Moji Coffee and More is an organization that helps people with developmental impairments find jobs in the community. Lanie is a member of the board of directors for this organization. As a result of the Alzheimer’s disease taking the life of her mother when she was 66 years old, she is also deeply committed to finding a cure for the condition. She currently serves on the board of directors of the Alzheimer’s Association of Western North Carolina. Lanie frequently shares her story in public settings with other families whose members are also afflicted by the condition. She does this in the hopes of being a part of the answer and the cure.
