In Oklahoma City, where he resides, Hamm is employed by KOCO 5 News in the capacities of First Alert storm chaser, Chief Photographer, and News Operations manager. Over the course of forty years, he has been employed at the radio station. Together with his Field Meteorologist Michael Armstrong, he flies the First Alert Storm Command aircraft.

Hamm was born and raised in Oklahoma, and the state’s climate has always held a special interest for him. Since the beginning of the 1990s, he has been a member of the First Alert Storm team. He has reported on a variety of weather phenomena, including as Hurricane Andrew in 1992, which occurred in both Louisiana and Miami. In addition to this, Kyle has been honored with a number of honors throughout the course of his career, including being nominated for an Emmy for KOCO’s coverage of the Laverne tornado in the early 1990s.
