In 1996, Garraway was given the role of co-presenter on the ITV Central broadcast of the South East edition of ITV News Meridian. This happened after her boss “talent spotted” her while she was giving a three-minute news broadcast on ITV Central. Her supervisor saw her do the presentation.

1998 saw Kate begin her role as co-host of Sunrise on Sky News alongside Martin Stanford. After that, in September of 2000, she started working at GMTV, where she was a co-host of the show GMTV Today alongside Andrew Castle. The program initially broadcast on Thursdays but eventually switched to Fridays. Despite this, Kate continued with her plan to present the show alongside Fion Phillips and Emma Crosby.

She worked alongside Ben Shephard as a co-host on the GMTV program after it was revived in 2009 and given a new start. The program was shown on Mondays, Tuesdays, and every other Wednesday of the week. During her stint at GMTV, she also co-presented shows alongside hosts such as Eamonn Holmes, John Stapleton, and Dan Lobb. On the 31st of August in 2010, Kate hosted the final episode of her show on GMTV.

After that, in 2007, she was the host of the questionnaire on The People’s Quiz. Her first appearance on the show was in 2004 when she hosted one episode of Too Many Cooks. Kate was the host of ITV’s “The Biggest Loser” in the year 2009. However, David McCall was hired to take her place after a while. She appeared on the show Wall of Fame, which David Williams moderated, on a regular basis and became a panelist.

Earlier on, it was revealed that Kate had signed a new deal to present each Friday in the absence of Kelly on August 3, 2012, which kicked off on that day. In addition, it was disclosed that Kelly would host the Friday episode of Lorraine on February 15, 2014, and this news was shared with the public.

On March 3, 2014, it was announced that the morning show Daybreak would be replaced by the brand new show Good Morning Britain. The cancellation of Daybreak came as a surprise to many viewers. As a consequence of these adjustments, it was stated that Lorraine Kelly would be presenting Lorraine five days a week, which demonstrated that Kate Good Morning would no longer continue to feature on Kelly’s show on Fridays. These developments came about as a direct result of the alterations that were made. Daybreak and Lorraine were the last shows that Kate hosted on April 25th, 2014, her final day in the role.

After that, she went on and became a member of Good Morning Britain the following month. Her appearances on the Lorraine show have gotten fewer and further between ever since she started working at Good Morning Britain. When Ben Shephard reduced the number of times he appeared on ITV Breakfast each week to only two, she was once again promoted to the role of interim lead presenter. Because of this, Kate hosted the show on a weekly basis for the first half of that year before Piers Morgan took over later in the year.

In the fifth season of Strictly Come Dancing, Kate was paired with the professional dancer Anton du Beke as her dance partner. Despite obtaining the lowest mark from the judge every week except in one of the competitions, she finished eighth out of the 14 couples. Prior to her removal in week seven, she was spared from elimination by the public vote the majority of the time.
