Sosa first worked as a reporter at Yakima, Washington’s KAPP-KVEW. She wrote about breaking news, court cases, wildfires, community events, and Indigenous women who were missing or killed in the Yakima, Washington, area. She started out in the TV business as a programming planner at KWHY-TV and later worked as a news assistant at KABC-TV.
Sosa was one of the founders of the NAHJ PNW–Seattle group during her two years in the Pacific Northwest. They grew up in Southern California, home of the LA Lakers and LA Dodgers. But she is a die-hard fan of the Boston Celtics and the San Diego Padres. Sosa likes to go climbing with her rescue dog Frida when she’s not writing stories. During the Fourth of July weekend, she met her dog while writing a story about puppies and dogs being saved from an Oklahoma kill shelter. One of the 12 puppies that were saved that day was Frida. Sosa is thrilled to be moving to New Mexico and getting to know the people there.
Sosa got her B.A. in journalism and a minor in Spanish from California State University, Long Beach. Her other job was as Vice President of the Cal State Long Beach Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. She also wrote for The Daily 49er, the school newspaper, and Beach News, a news station run by students.
