By the late 1980s, Valley Telecasting had transitioned into Sunbelt Broadcasting, and by the 1990s, it had evolved into Intermountain West Communications Company. The band provided their services to a number of radio and television networks across a number of western states, including KSNV in Las Vegas, KRNV in Reno, and KYMA in Yuma, Arizona, which is Hank’s hometown.

After being hired by WTVJ, Hank relocated to Miami in 1992, just one month before Hurricane Andrew was expected to make landfall. As a direct consequence of his efforts in coverage, the television station group was awarded the DuPont-Columbia University Award as well as the George Foster Peabody Broadcasting Award.
