After completing his education, Walker was hired by an ABC subsidiary in Tallahassee to work the weekend shift. At the same time, he was engaged in labor down in the basement. After that, he moved on to WJHG-TV in Panama City, Florida, where he worked as a sports anchor in addition to being a photographer, editor, and writer. His next step was to move on to WJHG-TV.
Walker went to WIVB-TV in Buffalo, New York, shortly after working for NBC’s Macon Georgia subsidiary.
