As a Meteorologist for CBS DFW/ KTVT in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Moran is employed by Moran. In December 2019, she became a member of the CBS11 weather family. Prior to that, Erin worked as the morning meteorologist for KXXV-TV in Waco, Texas, for a period of three years. This means that she is familiar with the advantages of living in the climate of Texas, but she is also aware of the exceptional difficulties that come with predicting the weather in the state of Texas.

After receiving her degree in communication, she started working in television news shortly after she entered the workforce. Erin began her career in the television industry working as a production assistant and has since worked her way up to the position of reporter at television stations in Albany, New York, Springfield, Massachusetts, and Charlotte, North Carolina. She appreciated the fast-paced environment of the newsroom, but she could see herself drifting towards the weather side of things, particularly after covering many significant weather events. It was in Charlotte that she first made the acquaintance of her future weather mentor, and he was the one who encouraged her to pursue a degree in meteorology.

Erin is currently working as a weekend morning forecaster at WBTW-TV in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in addition to attending online meteorology programs offered by Mississippi State University. She recently accepted full-time employment at the station. In Myrtle Beach, she reported on severe thunderstorms and a great deal of tropical weather, including Hurricane Matthew in 2016, when the storm was making its fourth landfall near McClellanville, South Carolina, and Hurricane Hermine, which made its final landfall just south of Myrtle Beach. After less than three months had passed, she packed up their puppy and made the 1,200-mile journey to Texas with her soon-to-be-husband. The rest, as they say, is history.

Erin has covered a wide variety of weather phenomena during her time in Texas, including hailstorms, tornadoes, flooding, ice storms, extreme heat events, and everything in between. She regards it as a great honor to be welcomed into your home each morning and evening, and she is aware that this privilege comes with the enormous duty of keeping you and your family safe, particularly when severe weather is predicted. Erin’s favorite way to spend her free time is in the great outdoors with her husband and their two dogs, Nala and Willow (whom you will see a LOT of if you follow her on social media; they are a staple in her posts).

Moran’s passionate parents brought her into the world and reared her in the United States of America. When she was a child, her parents provided her with the best upbringing that was humanly imaginable. Erin has not divulged a great deal of information about her family, including her parents and siblings if she does in fact have any.

Mike Leslie, who works as a sports anchor and reporter for WFAA, is married to Moran. In 2018, the couple went through the ceremony of exchanging their wedding vows.

Although she has not stated the number of children she has, she is a mother.
