She also won the first place Edward R. Murrow Award in 2012 for “Best Use of Sound” and the first place Public Radio News Directors Inc. (PRNDI) Award for spot news on the “Bullying of Jamie Rodemeyer” in the same year.
The Public Radio Digital Newsies Awards are the only national contests that recognize exceptional public radio news reporting at local stations. Eileen was presented with the “Pinnacle Award” bestowed by the Buffalo Broadcasters Association in the early spring of 2013. The award is given to a person who has demonstrated exceptional achievement over the course of their professional career, which must have included at least 25 years of service to a radio or television outlet serving the Buffalo area.
