He has worked in television in Louisiana for the better part of his four decades in the industry, with the majority of those years spent in his hometown. Ed is currently employed at WGNO TV in New Orleans in the role of Sports Director. In the end, he decided to become a part of the WGNO TV team and started working there as a freelancer in the year 1991. In January of 1993, he was hired on permanently. Ed produced the first high school football show in New Orleans in 1991, and it aired on WGNO and WNOL (Channel 38) live each week. Friday Night Football Back was the first high school football show in New Orleans.
Since 1993, Ed has served as the Sports Director of WGNO. From 1996 until 2006, he also held the position of Sports Anchor. In 1997, 2014, and 2018, the National Sportswriters Association and the Sportscasters Association of Louisiana awarded him the honor of Louisiana Sportscaster of the Year. Ed, along with Riverside’s head basketball coach Timmy Byrd, serves as a co-tournament director for the Allstate Sugar Bowl National Prep Classic, which is widely considered to be among the most prestigious high school basketball tournaments in the United States. An annual high school tournament that features some of the best prep baseball teams in Louisiana is known as the WGNO baseball classic. He and the AD of Brother Martin High School, Mark Wisniewski, both serve as tournament coordinators for the event.
