Carmen worked on a multi-media project titled “inside and out” about the discussions surrounding mental imbalance during her final year of graduate school. She conducted interviews with two of her acquaintances who had this handicap for this research.
Her involvement in the alumni project left a lasting impression on her since it allowed her to understand the difficulties they encounter every day. She also participated in a number of Autism 5 Walks and Runs that were hosted all throughout Connecticut in order to support the effort to raise money for a number of different charities.
Carmen got her start in the television announcing business at WHAG-TV in Hagerstown, Maryland. She was anxious about leaving her family behind, but moving seven hours away from them ended up being the finest decision she could have made.
