Bob Kelly Age

Bob Kelly Family
Bob is a native of Northeast Philadelphia, so he is familiar with all of the neighborhoods, the monuments, and the location of the shop that serves the tastiest jelly donuts. He is a local man through and through, having attended North Catholic High School and Temple University, both of which are located in the Philadelphia area. He has not ever disclosed anything about his family, including his mother, father, and siblings.
As he was growing up in Northeast Philadelphia, a place where people always decorate for Christmas, he came up with the idea for “A Very Kelly Christmas.” He would hit the road during the month of December and broadcast LIVE from the front lawns of the houses in the neighborhood that had the most elaborate decorations.
Bob Kelly Wife
Bob lives with his wife Carrie Kelly, who works as a child life specialist, and their six children in a suburb of Philadelphia. Carrie Kelly and Bob met while working. Even though Bob considers himself to be the undisputed master of the obscure shortcut, he claims that he has instructed his children to stick to the more well-traveled roads. He advises that one should have patience when driving in traffic rather than risk being lost. Kelly acknowledges that this does not mean that he always puts what he preaches into practice.
Bob Kelly Fox 29
In October 2014, Bob became a member of the FOX 29 News team, where he currently serves as the traffic reporter for “Good Day Philadelphia.” While serving in this capacity, he is also the host of the daily morning parts known as “Kelly’s Classroom,” “Breakfast with Bob,” and “Town Takeover.” Each of these segments takes him into the local community, where he interacts with the viewers of “Good Day Philadelphia.” In addition to that, he has been a co-host for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Philadelphia for more than 15 years.
Bob served as the Traffic Anchor for the Philadelphia station CBS 3 for the previous 13 years before joining FOX 29.
He broke ground by being the first traffic anchor in Philadelphia to present his reports in front of a green screen.
He is known for his animated and entertaining videos, in which he uses catchphrases such as “Jammo,” “Two Jelly Donut Delay,” and “the Conshy Curve.” Many people now refer to him as “The Dean of Traffic.” He has earned this title.
Bob started out his professional life as a radio disc jockey and worked alongside Jerry Blavat, also known as The Geator. He worked his way up and down the dial at some of the most popular radio stations in Philadelphia until traffic became a news story, at which point he joined KYW News Radio as the host of the program Traffic on the 2s.
The Traffic Anchor, winner of an Emmy Award, has provided entertainment for sports fans over the years both on the Jumbotron at games involving the Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Flyers, and Philadelphia Sixers, as well as with his popular segment, “Tailgate Takeover,” which airs prior to Eagles games.
Bob Kelly Traffic
Bob started off at 102.9 MGK and then moved his way up and down the dial at all of the popular radio stations. He found out that the music industry was beginning to go through some changes. There were significantly fewer DJs actually broadcasting live on the radio; instead, everything was prerecorded. His representative informed him that there would be a significant increase in traffic. What if you spun that on a record?’ You cannot prerecord the traffic, as it is life and must remain life at all times. Therefore, Bob made the decision to act as a DJ for the traffic instead of praising the Rolling Stones.
Bob began working as a host for KYW Radio’s News on the 2s, where he soon established himself as a listener favorite due to the way he lived his life and the catchphrases he used. Soon after that, he was giving traffic reports on eight different prominent stations while it was rush hour. In the year 2001, CBS 3 made contact.
Bob, with the humor and zeal that are characteristic of him, altered the way that traffic is reported not only in Philadelphia but also everywhere else. Kelly, who has been honored with both an Emmy Award and induction into the Broadcast Pioneers Hall of Fame, made the switch to FOX 29’s Good Day Philadelphia in the year 2014. Even though he has received offers to transfer to New York City and a larger market, he has no intention of doing so because he is widely considered to be the most well-liked traffic reporter in the area.
During the holiday season, viewers eagerly anticipate “A Very Kelly Christmas,” Kelly’s tour of the extravagantly decorated homes of Northeast Philadelphia. On Mondays, Bob hosts a segment called “Town Takeover,” where he travels to a Philadelphia neighborhood or a South Jersey suburb to get to know a community.
Even when he’s not working on a segment, he enjoys the unexpected aspect of traffic reporting because it compels him to think quickly and creatively on his feet.
