While Bob was a student at the University of Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia, Missouri, he began his career at KOMU as the Assignment Editor, the City Government Reporter, and the Weekend 6 p.m. furthermore, 10 p.m. Reporter. All of these positions were held while Bob was still an undergraduate.

He was an essential contributor to one of the most compelling local news broadcasts that Fox subsidiaries have ever produced. His efforts contributed to WXIN being named “Fox With Stationing of the Year” in 1992 and again in 1994.
In addition to his work in the anchoring department, Bob has, over his lengthy career at FOX59, provided great reports and narratives that have been nominated for Emmy grants and won. He continued to fulfill his regular responsibilities on the FOX59 News at 10 broadcasts on WXIN while simultaneously assuming responsibility for the new 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. stories on the new CBS4. His mooring on two first-class network companies had never before attempted to venture into the market in Indianapolis.
Bob’s efforts, as he had done numerous times in his career, exceeded expectations and made the send-off of CBS4 Indy a resonant accomplishment while staying up with the high assessments of FOX59. This was accomplished while maintaining up with the standards set by FOX59.
Even though it had been off the air for only two years, the 11 o’clock newscast on CBS4 Indy was honored with an Emmy award for Best Newscast in 2018. He continued to hold the dual anchor positions on both stations for a full year before leaving FOX59 News at 10 to focus only on the night broadcasts on CBS4.
