Art Rascon, an American journalist and a native of El Paso, Texas, has been a news anchor for KTRK-TV since 1998. Rascon graduated from Green Mountain High School and afterward enrolled at Brigham Young University-Idaho.

As an associate producer and reporter for the PBS affiliate KBYU-TV in Provo, Utah, and the ABC affiliate KTVX-TV in Salt Lake City, respectively, Rascon began his television career in Utah in 1983. Rascon relocated to Texas in 1985, working as a producer, reporter, and anchor for the NBC affiliate KRBC-TV in Abilene until August 1987, the ABC affiliate KVIA-TV in El Paso until 1988, the NBC affiliate KMOL-TV (now WOAI-TV) in San Antonio, and finally the NBC affiliate KMOL-TV (now WOAI-TV) in San Antonio until he moved to KABC-TV in Los Angeles as a reporter and anchor.

Rascon covered a variety of stories, including brush fires, riots, and other natural disasters, as well as widely covered incidents including the O.J. Simpson, Rodney King, Lyle, and Erik Menendez trials, the Branch Davidian standoff, and the 1992 Los Angeles riots.

Later, Rascon settled in Miami to work as a journalist for CBS Evening News. While there, he covered significant news items from the Caribbean, Mexico, and the Southeast United States, as well as a variety of stories from Cuba and South and Central America. Rascon also covered hurricanes in the area, conflicts and instability in Haiti, Peru, Mexico, and the Oklahoma City bombing.

He spoke with Daniel Ortega and Manuel Noriega. He received a national Edward R. Murrow award for his spot coverage of Hurricane Opal on CBS Radio and CBS News. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences also nominated him and the 48 Hours (TV series) crew for an Emmy for their coverage of Hurricane Fran.
