During that time, he covered a variety of beats and stories for the station.
During his time at WYFF, Allen covered a variety of stories, including the struggle to reduce the rate of violent crime in Anderson County, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on African Americans throughout South Carolina, the death of James “Radio” Kennedy, Joe Biden’s campaign trail through the Upstate, the aftermath of the 2016 Townville Elementary School fatal shooting, the impact of George Floyd’s death on the AME Church, and he secured the only interview with the parents of the Townville Elementary School shooting
While attending the University of South Carolina, Allen participated in both the Republican and Democratic town hall meetings held in February 2016 in Columbia, South Carolina. He also worked for CNN during the 2016 presidential campaign.
During his time in New York, Allen reported on the increasing number of people living on the streets of the city as well as the implementation of a congestion charging system in Manhattan. He could not be more excited to become a member of the Atlanta News First News family and to serve the greater Atlanta area.
