Staniec is employed as a Meteorologist at WFRV-TV CBS Local 5 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA, and can be seen there on weekdays. When she was young, she had an interest in the different types of weather. As she was growing up, she had the lead role in a number of musicals, which is how she discovered that she like being the center of attention. Alexis was encouraged to explore her interests in science and mathematics by both of her parents, who are both professionals in sectors related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Alexis’s life was directly affected by Superstorm Sandy in 2008, which sparked her interest in meteorology. When all of the relevant information was considered, she realized that broadcast meteorology was the ideal career route for her.

During her time at Millersville University, she played four years in the outfield for the Division II softball team. In addition, she served as the softball representative on the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and was an active member of many meteorology clubs, including the American Meteorological Society, Campus Weather Service, Weather Watch, and many others.

Following graduation, Alexis accepted a position as Storm Team 5’s newest meteorologist and moved to the western United States in June 2022 so that she could begin her dream profession. In addition, she is really ecstatic about the opportunity to gain knowledge from and collaborate with such reputable meteorologists who continue to guide and instruct her as she begins her profession.

During the summer of 2021, Alexis completed an internship as a meteorologist with the North Dakota Atmospheric Resource Board/Weather Modification International in the western part of the state of North Dakota. During this time, she also earned her Student Pilot License. It is her dream to one day complete her flight training and get a pilot’s license for private aviation. In addition, she worked as a virtual intern meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Gaylord, Michigan, during the summer of 2021. This position was situated in Gaylord. In 2019, Alexis also completed a food science internship at Firmenich Incorporated, where she worked in the domain of food science. Alexis is overjoyed that she now resides in the Fox River Valley and can take her dog Woody on a variety of outings, including runs, hikes, and bike rides. Additionally, she is thrilled to be moving back to a location that is so close to a “beach” like Green Bay.
